Questions about rental requirements

What are the age and driving licence requirements for renting a vehicle?

Araç kiralayabilmek için en az 23 yaşında ve en az 2 yıllık geçerli sürücü belgesine sahip olmanız gerekir.

Can I take the rental car abroad?

No. Rental vehicles may not be taken outside Türkiye.

International visitors, deposits and insurance

Can international visitors rent a car?

International visitors can submit a rental enquiry. Before booking, tell us the licence-issuing country, driver’s age and rental dates. Ask our team to confirm acceptance of your documents and any additional requirements in writing. An enquiry is not approval to rent.

Can I use a Dutch or other EU driving licence?

Request a document check before booking with a Dutch or other EU licence. Tell us the issuing country, expiry date, how long you have held it and your date of entry into Türkiye. Confirm whether a translation, international driving permit or other supporting document is needed. This website does not promise automatic acceptance of every foreign licence.

How much is the security deposit?

The security deposit is €100 or TRY 5,000. Confirm the collection or card-hold method and refund or release conditions before booking. The deposit, rental price and insurance excess are separate items.

What insurance is included?

Our vehicles have comprehensive insurance. Review the applicable policy’s cover, exclusions and any optional protection charges when choosing your vehicle. Comprehensive insurance does not mean every loss or expense is covered without conditions; the policy and rental agreement apply.

What is the insurance excess or deductible?

An excess or deductible is the amount or share you may have to pay for damage under the policy and agreement. A fixed excess is not published here. Before booking, ask for the vehicle’s excess, excluded damage and circumstances affecting your financial responsibility in writing. Do not assume a zero excess.

Which payment methods are accepted?

The published document list includes a credit card. Confirm accepted card types, cardholder requirements, payment currency and the deposit procedure in advance. Ask separately whether cash, debit cards or bank transfers are accepted.

Can I return the car at Esenboğa Airport?

Include an Esenboğa Airport return in your quote request. Obtain advance written confirmation of the meeting point, time, operational availability and any extra charge. An airport delivery arrangement does not automatically confirm an airport return.

For long-term rentals, a new vehicle from your requested brand may be sourced. Vehicle and supply terms are confirmed at the quotation stage.

BENEFITS OF RENTING A CAR

Keep your capital working in your business

Instead of spending capital on purchasing a vehicle, you can keep it invested in your business.
Use a vehicle without a car loan and its associated interest costs.
Depending on applicable law and your business, rental payments may be treated as an expense; consult your accountant.
Use the funds you would allocate to a vehicle purchase to grow your business.
Insurance, comprehensive cover, taxes and statutory vehicle costs are managed within the rental terms.
You do not need to manage routine servicing and standard repair costs.
In the event of a breakdown or accident, a replacement vehicle may be available under the contract and subject to availability.
You do not bear the vehicle’s depreciation risk.

WHAT IS AND IS NOT INCLUDED

Additional services, fuel and mileage

Services charged separately

Child seats, navigation devices, additional drivers, and HGS devices/cards and usage charges for bridge and motorway tolls are charged separately.

Fuel policy

The vehicle may be supplied with a full or empty tank as stated in the agreement. If it is returned with less fuel than recorded on the delivery form, the fuel difference and a service charge will be collected.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

All drivers must be named in the agreement

For anyone other than the renter to drive the vehicle, the additional driver’s licence details must be added to the rental agreement.

The first driver is added to the agreement free of charge after presenting a licence and meeting the rental requirements. Each additional driver after the first is charged 250 TL per day. The same age and licence-holding requirements apply to additional drivers.

If an unregistered driver is found to have used the vehicle, or is involved in an accident, cover may be invalidated; the renter and driver may be held jointly and separately liable for resulting losses.

HGS

Motorway and bridge tolls

Toll and service charges for HGS motorway and bridge crossings are collected separately from the rental fee.

VEHICLE DELIVERY AND COLLECTION

Delivery subject to office availability

In cities and towns where IŞIK Rent A Car operates, vehicle delivery and collection within the district boundaries and a distance of 0–10 km is free, subject to office availability.

Delivery and collection in cities and regions without one of our offices is chargeable. Call our Reservation Centre for location-specific information.

LATE RETURNS

If you return the vehicle late

For delays of up to 3 hours, the charge is 500 TL; for delays exceeding 3 hours, one day’s rental fee is charged.
